The Struts are one of the world’s biggest up-and-coming rock bands of today. After the UK band opened for incredible acts like The Rolling Stones and Motley Crue, The Struts just reissued their debut album Everybody Wants in the United States, with five previously unheard songs.

Originally released in July 2014, Everybody Wants reached #52 on the UK charts. In August 2015, they released their EP “Have You Heard,” the first music of theirs released to the United States. As The Struts began to tour in support of their EP in the U.S., tour dates began to sell out, and they became more and more popular.

The lead single, “Could Have Been Me,” an anthemic rock song about seizing the day, peaked at #5 on the U.S. Alternative charts, and led to performances on Jimmy Kimmel and Late Night with Seth Meyers. The music video for “Could Have Been Me,” directed by Jonas Ackerland, the creative force behind videos such as Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” has been viewed almost three million times since its release in August. The video showcases The Struts as the rock-stars that they are:

What makes The Struts so magnetic?

The Struts’ recent rise to fame could be attributed to their intense live performances. Channeling Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger, frontman Luke Spiller frolicks on stage in eccentric costumes, radiating pure energy. According to Glide Magazine, at a show “Spiller pranced across the stage like a possessed peacock riling up the audience before jumping offstage once more and climbing the stairs up to the balcony and back before climbing over the railing and onto the soundboards frame – all while conducting and whipping the masses into a frenzy.”

With “Everybody Wants” being released to the United States, The Struts now have a number of tour dates in the U.S. According to Spiller, “The main mission of the band is to bring back that feeling of fun and rock & roll, especially to all those people who are bored by what’s going on these days. We really believe that music, when it’s done right, can help you escape the present moment, and then just send you somewhere else entirely.” And The Struts do a very good job of just that.
